My story in the field of construction, repair and restoration of wooden boats, begins at the age of about 45. (Year over year younger)
In fact a few years earlier, around 25/30 bought by a company in my area who built them in series, an empty shell laminated with a polyester resin Batana, that for those not of the trade, it is a small boat about 4 meters long with a flat bottom, typical of my area. (Riviera del Conero)
On this shell, there I went to work as a hobby (so with great passion) about eight months.
I completed it, adding frame, current, solid mahogany fender, inside there I built the side benches and the kettle, and we applied it behind a small 7.5 hp outboard Jonshon.
The following year, I fell in love and then sail on my boat, I built a wooden mast, with its boom, bompressino (in the sense that it was very short!) And antenna, thereby achieving the third rig.
The mainsail with its bow (also in the sense that it was really small!) I had them do a loft here in my area and the boat went out to enjoy for many years.
passion for sailing has been gaining increasing, however, and still fascinates me a lot.
fascinates me how to not just everything about the classic boats built of wood and everything that goes around the navy, in the strict sense of the word.
All this, combined with great passion for working wood and composite materials, I was a great stimulus to undertake precisely the way to build wooden boats, with the application of composite systems.
